If you are 16 to 24 years old, have a learning difficulty assessment or an education health and care plan and want to move into employment a Supported Internship will provide you with the additional support you need.
A Supported Internship is a 12-month programme that will help you to achieve the skills and experience you need to secure employment.
On a Supported Internship you will spend the majority of your time in an unpaid work placement with an employer and the dedicated support of a job coach.
You will also have an Individualised study programme giving you the chance to gain a vocational qualification alongside English and Maths development.
To be eligible you need a Statement of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), a Learning Difficulty Assessment, or an Education Health and Care Plan.
You will develop work skills through employer visits, sector-based learning and work experience. You will also study English, maths and a vocational qualification.
During your time at Nova Training, you will also develop skills such as resilience, communication, workplace behaviours, independent travel, money management and interview preparation – essential for entering the workplace.
