Entry Requirements

To enrol onto the Learning and Skills Teacher Level 5 Apprenticeship, learners will typically need:

  • A Level 3 qualification or relevant industry experience
  • GCSE Grade 4/C or above in English and maths preferred
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • A passion for supporting and developing learners
  • The ability to plan, deliver and reflect on teaching practice

Applicants will complete an initial assessment and interview to ensure the programme is suitable for their experience and career goals.

Assessment

Apprentices will be assessed through a combination of practical teaching experience and portfolio-based evidence.

Assessment methods may include:

  • Teaching practice assessments
  • Professional discussions

  • Portfolio of evidence

If required, learners may also complete Functional Skills qualifications in English and maths.

At the end of the apprenticeship, learners will complete an End-Point Assessment (EPA), which may include:

The apprenticeship typically takes around 18 to 24 months to complete, depending on prior experience and progress.
