At Nova Training we offer an opportunity for learners to resit their GCSE English Language (9-1) exams. This opportunity is available to any learner who has previously achieved a Grade 3 (or D) in their GCSE English Language at school and enrols with us on a full-time timetable. The course will take place over the academic year with an opportunity to sit the assessment during either the Autumn or Summer exam windows. The lessons will take place weekly, via Google classroom with supplementary in-person support on offer from your tutor.
The course will support learners to develop their GCSE English Language skills in preparation for either the Autumn or Summer retake windows provided annually by Pearson. The course will cover all of the assessment criteria for GCSE English Language and will include planned mock assessment opportunities in order to ensure that you are ready for assessment.
You must be aged between 16 to 19 and enrolled with us on a full-time timetable. Due to the retake nature of the course, you must have achieved a Grade 3 (or D) in GCSE English Language previously and have a Grade 3 or below in GCSE English Literature in order to be eligible for enrolment.
The GCSE English Language course consists of two paper-based exams and one spoken language assessment. Examinations take place in June and November of each academic year.
Having a Grade 9-4 in GCSE English Language is a requirement for many Further and Higher Education courses, apprenticeships and employers. It also allows you to prove your ability to commit to long-term goals and complete independent study, both of which are highly valued workplace skills.
