Our Pre-Apprenticeship Academy Programme will help you develop the skills you need to build confidence in the workplace.

On the free eight to sixteen-week programme, you will learn:
The principles of health and safety within the Early Years setting.
Importance of safeguarding within the Early Years setting and why it is important.
Awareness of healthy eating and specialised diets that you may find in the Early Years setting.
How to plan age-appropriate activities to encourage and support learning in the Early Years setting.
Basic principles of child development and how this relates to your role as an Early Years Practitioner.
What the Early Years Practitioner role involves, and the skills and qualities that would support your progression in this sector.
Opportunity to gain real work experience to build your CV.
Improve your English and Maths.


Our Pre-Apprenticeship courses are designed to help you gain the skills and experience you need to progress on to a job or an apprenticeship with some of our existing employers.

Entry Requirements

Aged 16 to 18 years (up to 24 years with an Education Health Care Plan)
Looking to move onto an Apprenticeship or employment at the end of the Traineeship
Qualified below Level 3 but achieved GCSE Grade 3 or above, in English and Maths, or achieved Functional Skills Level 1 or above in English and Math

Assessment

This is a bespoke program based on your induvial needs, you will be assessed on your English and maths, then work towards Functional Skills or GCSE resits.
You will also access Early Years vocational training in this training course.

Future Opportunities

Completing this Pre-Apprenticeship course will give you the opportunity to apply for an Apprenticeship within an Early Years setting.
