If the above describes you, then maybe a Damage Paint Technician Level 3 apprenticeship is your next career decision.

As an apprentice Paint Technician, you shall develop the knowledge and skill sets to utilise the correct materials and levels to prepare, spray and refinish damaged vehicles / light commercial vehicles bodies. You shall learn strategies that enable you to demonstrate colour identification and select the correct materials such as primers, base coats and clear coats. Finally, you will be competent to correct colour match and final finish a vehicle to the company and customers exacting standards.

You are officially an employee of the company so you will also be earning a wage while you learn.
You will not only be learning skills towards a new qualification but growing as an individual by boosting your professional profile within a working environment.

There are no course costs to you personally.
Develop your Maths and English up to level 2 with homework and tutor support to prepare for the final exam (If you have not already achieved this prior to starting the Apprenticeship).

You will attend regular coaching sessions with a qualified and industry-experienced Apprenticeship Coach who will conduct remote sessions lasting approximately 1 hour. (During this time, you will be set work to undertake as part of your off-the-job training). At quarterly intervals, you will receive a face-to-face visit to discuss progress and learning with practical activities being reviewed where necessary.

Entry Requirements

Individual employers will set the selection criteria for their apprentices. It is recommended during the selection process that the learner demonstrates the following qualities:

Problem-solving and self-organisation skills
Good communication skills, both oral and written
Works well independently and as part of a team
Willingness to learn

Assessment

End Point assessment - with an independent assessor
Review of completed eLogbook
Practical Skills Test
Knowledge Test (Online)
Professional Discussion (supported by a portfolio of evidence)

Future Opportunities

On completion, apprentices may be eligible to progress on to other courses
