Training Centres

Nova has 19 apprenticeship training centres throughout the West Midlands and the East of England. All centres are well equipped with ICT, plasma screens and a range of other resources. Many of our centres have additional workshops where you can learn a trade such as bricklaying, hairdressing, retail, beauty, plumbing, decorating, plastering, carpentry or motor vehicle.

Our Netherton Branch requested support from our learners to help paint the Branch, we has a number of volunteers from our Multi Craft course. Our learners ensured they arrived on time had all the correct PPE.

 The Centre Manager & Senior Operation Manager at Netherton were impressed by the professionalism and the high standard of work carried out. The learners were treated to lunch by Nova. The Learners, Marc Davitt, Adam Robinson, Ashley George, Jake Nicholls, Macauley Clever, Andrew Autie and Anthony Pountney all enjoyed the challenge and have updated there work experience on there CV’s

Hayley Wylie has recently taken the role of Placement and Progression officer, this has made a huge impact to Nova Oldbury, she has been out around Sandwell visiting Local Garages and Retailers building relationships to support our learners into placements and employment.

In the 3 weeks of her new role Hayley has manged to secure 4 engineer apprenticships and 2 motor vehicle placements, 3 Retail, with another two visit to secure placements,  this has increased moral amongst our learners and encouraging them to be more proactive in completing there qualification’s and employability skills.

 Massive Well Done Hayley!!

Jake Nicholls

Reason for Nomination:


Our learner of the month for January is Jake Nicholls.


Jake has been at Nova since July 2012 and has worked hard throughout his time with us.  He has been consistent in his determined approach to his work and has always completed tasks given to him to a very high standard. 


Jake has almost completed all of his Basic Construction Skills qualification as well as his English and Maths at Level 1.


He has stayed behind after sessions to work with staff to compile his CV and Cover Letter and identify sources of possible employment in order to try to secure an apprenticeship or full-time employment.   


Recently, Jake attended an interview with TLE Engineering and received excellent feedback from the company. 


Jake has a lovely personality which shines through the moment you meet him.  He is friendly to staff and peers, respectful, helpful and nothing is ever too much trouble.
